Recession - by Ogunyomi Israel Abidemi

Change!
         We grabbed the concept
Without probing its content;
Hence the rooster barks at night
And the dog crows in the dawn.
The cat sprouts horns
And the bull grows paws.

The dribblers of the nation
Are a genuine evil genius,
Cunning enough to make the green red;
Witty enough to carve a night
Out of the chest of a bare day.

Barns and banks, all are red,
Making the earth hotter than hell.

Ah! This pertinacious chart
Of recession behooves the imagination of humanity,
Turning the father his family's foe -
The former thundering tumultuously
Like disaster over every grain of rice
His soles discover on the kitchen's floor -
Including those labelled wastes,
Kept in stock to stuff the bin's bowel.
