FREE CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP THAT WILL WEAR A NEW GARMENT FOR YOUR WRITING PROWESS

If you are an upcoming poet, a playwright or prose writer, here is an opportunity for you to improve your writing prowess by attending this CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP organized by Association of Nigerian Authors (Ana) Osun State Chapter Obafemi Awolowo University (Oau) Branch.

Venue: Auditorium 1, Faculty of Arts and Humanities Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

It is designed to meet creative and intellectual needs of established and up and coming writers, therefore the workshop has been set to cover wide genres of creative writing, with competent and established writers as speakers. 

The speakers at the workshop are: 

Prof. Gbemisola Adeoti – will lecture on Playwriting. 
He lectures at Obafemi Awolowo University. His areas of teaching and research include Dramatic Literature, Poetry, Literary History; Literary Theories. 

Dr. Yomi Olusegun-Joseph – will lecture on Prose writing 
He lectures at Obafemi Awolowo University. His research focus and specializations include Literary Theories, African Literature, African American and Caribbean Literature, Commonwealth Literature. 
Servio Gbadamosi – will lecture on Poetry 
He is an award winning author of the poetry collection, A Tributary in Servitude. A publisher at WriteHouse Collection, he has also won the Association of Nigerian Authors’ (ANA) poetry prize. 

Omotayo Joseph – will lecture on Critical Review 
He is a book critic, webmaster and freelance for different online media. He manages web contents for Afridiaspora   and 234project.

African drama and theatre started to emerge in Africa continent when British came to make their affairs of life imposed on Africans. They came with ideas; religion, education, business transaction, making Africa a raw material place where their solid land was built up by it. NIGERIAN YOUTHS FROWN AGAINST JUNGLE JUSTICE

A couple of weeks ago, the picture of a boy, said to be eight years old, who was mobbed and killed for stealing Garri took the social media by storm. While some people believed he was not eight years old as purported, some people believed the picture was only doctored. But be it true or not, it does not stop the fact that we have cases on jungle justice here and there all over Africa. Just some years back, 4 innocent students were beaten to death by a mob, who believed they were armed robbers. It is in this regard that Nigerian youths take SRAF, a WhatsApp group to express their thoughts about jungle justice. The discussion which took place on the 20 th  November, 2016 was moderated by  Soul’e Rhymez , a Poet and Public speaker from Nigeria.
