THOUGHT: ' ...don't speak of boys' - by Olawale Opeyemi

....and so the journey begins with little hope of success
little hiccup here and there,
leaving traces on its trail,
knowing failure and success goes hand in hand speaks volume to the mind

..body changes as time progresses
mama says don't speak of boys,
for they are nothing but your woes,
of course she knows what it takes, to be "alive" dandy and all

does it makes sense being  around them , only to be mute to their hounds?

‎but mama knows what it takes,
she's been around long enough
long enough to know their ways
though her days might be old

not much of modern days of "gold"
‎public domain for sure is wrecked
but 'twas never like that with her
mama sees her life clear as dew

never speaks of boys, she says
with the wrinkle in her face
she ran her race with lots of pains

keeping close distance  from home
thinking mama is off your trail,
you form in mind at the corner of your heart
living the life you think you know, until your prompter leaves for good

Now she's gone, what's left to do?

time to speak to boys in view
but mama is not in view
body grows as time progresses
and they say the time is moving

bring a boy , the time is now,
but mama is not here now,

mama is gone, what's left to do?

speaking to boys now is not forbidden
but mama is gone for good
success of failure clouds the struggle.....
but success lies beneath the failure

don't speak of boys, mama says
it's time to speak
mama is gone..........
