HOW IYAYI COULD NOT SURVIVE IN THE MOTOR CRASH
Now the details on how professor Festus Iyayi, the former president of Association of Staff Union of Universities ASUU, could not survive the motor accident along Lokoja-Abuja expressway on Tuesday. Iyayi lost his life on his way to the norther chapter of the association for an executive meeting.
While on the way, it was learnt that the Kogi State police convoy brushed the part where Prof. Iyayi sat and an object went straight to his heart.
In relation to that, the deceased was hypertensive as he was so hypertensive at the time of the accident. As a hypertension patient, he was with NOVASC, an anti-hypertensive drug. He was also with the daily newspaper before he kicked the bucket.
The sole administrator of the Kogi State Specialist Hospital disclosed that the death of Iyayi was a destined incidence as there was no way to prevent the destiny.
"I believe that what will be will be. Iyayi was just destined to die. This was because nobody was unconscious in his vehicle, but only four other people in governor's convoy sustained injuries."
The death of Iyayi was a great tragedy to ASUU even the students as well. To mourn his death, the association has not disclosed the actual time for the meeting that was expected to hold yesterday Wednesday.
