MY VICINITY – BY OLAOBAJU OLAKUNLE OLAMIDE

Staring from the eastern side
At the dungeon
Motorable for suppressed masses
As cars, motorcycles tricycles
Battle for survival
Like trees buzzed by wind
By uncontrollable jigging jagging
On the road
Staggering front and back
To find balance

Walking on the smooth road
With cans, nylons, papers
Struggle with me for passage
As I trudge on them mercilessly

Playing on the pitch
The "grassless" Bernabeu
Fields are green
But mine are brown
Stony than the Zuma rock
Racing to and fro
Chasing the piggy round leather
To win
Gain the cheers
Of the silent side trees
And cooing birds of the air
For they our spectators be

My vicinity
My vicinity
My vicinity
