The minister of Agriculture,  Mr Audu Ogbe, Ooni  of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi  Ojaja II and the governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola  officially flagged off cashew plantation on Tuesday, June 7 , 2016 in Ogudu, Ile-Ife, Osun State. The Minister of Agriculture conducted the official inauguration of cashew plantation in the state to facilitate the efforts of the Federal Government in diversifying the economy of the country. It was learnt that the Federal Government wished to do the same across the country but Osun was the first to embrace the initiative. While addressing the people, the minister said that cashew plantation was the first item on the agenda of the Federal Government in embracing agriculture, saying that the next focus would be on cocoa and bananas. He said further that youths would be the beneficiaries of the laudable agricultural programmes of the Federal Government, adding that the time had come to empower the youths and overcome the challenge
